Northern Valley of Lake Como: Authentic food, wine and culture.

A one-day getaway to discover one of the loveliest and most authentic valley north of Lake Como. Fabulous landscapes where high mountains stands over beautiful green hills and suggestive vineyards. Here and there you can still spot medieval little towns and old stone ruins hidden in nature. Most of the people here live on agriculture and animals. Local food and Gastronomy are simply excellent and genuine. You’ll be surprised of how important is nature for this valley.

This is a small-group tour only, travelling on a full-optional and comfy minivan in order to fully enjoy this journey all year round.
3 different departure points available: Milano and Lecco, which include a stop on the eastern side of the Lake (Corenno Plinio)   OR   departure from Como with a stop on the western side of the Lake (Rezzonico).

With departure from Milano (8:30am) and Lecco (9:30am):
A short stop on the way up north is perfect to stretch a bit or have a coffee while visiting the medieval gem of Lake Como with your tour guide: Corenno Plinio. Up & Down these alleys you’ll be entering a truly magical atmosphere.
Back on the minivan to drive north again and reach our first destination: a historical family-run wine cellar hidden into a natural cave. Here you’ll taste 6 excellent Valtellina wines which are proudly conquering also the finest tastes.
Time for lunch at one of the most traditional Crotto of the whole area where you’ll be having truly local specialties. Don’t forget to have a walk and take a picture at what we love to call “the Elves Village” where old Crotto are now merged in wild nature.
Free time in the afternoon at the Acquafraggia Waterfall for a walk before driving back. You’re not over yet because you’ll take a detour to visit a historical shop from 1883: an incredible place where you can explore the old cellars which still preserve old wines and cheeses. You’ll be amazed of all the food specialties you’ll meet here and the Bitto cheeses you can taste: a perfect culinary experience to end this lovely journey into the northern valleys.

Departure from Como (9:30am) means that we will be driving north following the western side of Lake Como. We will have a stop half-way to visit another medieval pearl: Rezzonico.
